Star Trek tricorder props

Science, medical or an away-team display?

Tricorder designs differ by series and role. Compare the body shape, control layout and scanner arrangement with the version you want to recreate. A medical tricorder and a general-purpose science prop can have different accessories even when their overall shape is similar.

Check the scanner, strap and stand

Some listings bundle a stand or strap, while others sell the tricorder body or an accessory separately. Check whether a removable scanner is included and how it stores. If a listing is for a holster, strap or hand scanner only, the main tricorder may not be part of that purchase.

Look closely at the finish and functions

Use the seller’s photos to inspect panel details, hinges and surface finish. Opening parts, magnets, lighting and sound are specific to individual versions and should be confirmed in the listing. Choose the exact option on the seller’s page before completing a purchase.
